Welcome to Indiana Society of Washington, D.C.

Our mission is to provide opportunities for Hoosiers – actual and honorary – living and working in Washington to gather in fellowship and celebration of our Indiana roots while representing the best aspects of our state in the nation’s capital.

Your enthusiastic participation in the organization’s events – from the Indy 500 Party to the State Day Party, Inaugural Gala and everything in between – has been critical to our success as a vibrant community of Hoosier "expatriates," and we look forward to your continued involvement in these activities.

Thanks for your interest.

2013 INDIANA INAUGURAL BALL

6 pm, Sunday, January 20, 2013
Omni Shoreham Regency Ballroom
Washington, D.C.

Introduction
On the evening of January 20th, 2013, in keeping with a long tradition, the Indiana Society of Washington, D.C., will again host a glittering Inaugural Ball at the historic Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington.  Unlike many of the Balls in the Inaugural lineup, the Indiana Ball will be a formal seated dinner dance celebrating the Inauguration of the President and honoring Indiana's new Governor and the Indiana Congressional delegation.

To begin this historic celebration, some 1,200 Hoosiers in formal attire will be greeted by strolling strings as they enter the foyer at one of Washington's grandest hotels, where they will enjoy a celebrity reception overlooking Rock Creek Park.  Next, the Omni Shoreham's renowned chef and wait staff will present a sumptuous, seated dinner at candlelit formal tables.  Throughout the evening, entertainment will be provided by the famed Purdue University Glee Club.  Dancing to the music of the incomparable McCusker & Barrick Orchestra will carry the celebration into the late evening hours.

Conclusion

The Indiana Society is a non-partisan organization that showcases Indiana's contributions to the nation's capital through a variety of programs and events that tie together Hoosiers from "back home" and those who are "expatriate" Hoosiers residing in Washington, D.C.  The Inaugural Ball held every four years on the evening before the Inauguration of the President, is the Indiana Society's signature event.  It is always a priority for Hoosiers attending the Inauguration as well as for Indiana's elected officials and major businesses and organizations based in our State.

In short, the Indiana Society's 2013 Inaugural Ball will be at the epicenter of Indiana political life in Washington on the evening of January 20th.  We sincerely hope to see you there and encourage you to act quickly to secure your tickets or reserved tables as we expect our Ball to sell out quickly!
